November E-News – Arizona

Stray Cat Theatre presents Mercury, November 24- December 9, 2017 This anti-holiday holiday show will premiere the full staging of Mercury, Steve Yockey’s latest pitch black comedy. Mercury has it all – an illicit affair, a couple hanging on by a thread, bears at the window and an adorable missing dog named Mr. Bundles. No one’s happy, people stop being nice and blood spills in this mash up of violent myth and ideas about “good neighbors” to explore what happens when the mercury rises. See Mercury, directed by Ron May at the Tempe Center for the Arts.

REVOCABLE LIVING TRUST—
A LIFE PLANNING DOCUMENT

Revocable Living Trusts are flexible and powerful planning tools. They can avoid probate and minimize estate tax. But a Trust is not simply another way to transfer assets upon death. It also helps during the Trustor’s lifetime. A properly drafted Trust makes it possible to anticipate and provide for a time of personal incapacity or disability. By appointing a successor Trustee and executing a Health Care Power of Attorney, you can often avoid the need and expense of a court guardianship proceeding. A Trust can facilitate a business succession plan, safeguard family income and protect those who rely upon you when you can no longer personally help. A Trust will help prevent the disputes, hardship and damaged relationships that often occur after a death.

Contact one of our Estate Planning Attorneys at pwestby@plattwestby.com or call 602-277-4441 to schedule a no charge consultation to learn how a Revocable Living Trust or other Estate Planning device such as a Beneficiary Deed might be of help.

A John Waters Christmas 2017 TourIllustration: Declan McCarthy Like a damaged St. Nick for the Christmas corrupted, John Waters – legendary filmmaker (Female Trouble, Hairspray, Serial Mom), raconteur and author of bestselling books, Carsick, Role Models and Make Trouble –hitchhikes into town with a bag full of sticks and stones for the devoted and the damned, spreading Yuletide profanity and perverted piety with his critically acclaimed one-man show, A John Waters Christmas. This rapid-fire trigger warning for holiday traditionalists asks the questions, Is Prancer the only gay reindeer?, Is it wrong to steal purses from cars in graveyard parking lots onChristmas Eve while mourners leave flowers?, Has Santa ever been nude?, and, most importantly, Should you disrupt living crèche celebrations this year in the name of political action?Miracles really do happen at Yuletide, even if they’re false, and Waters prays for a Gaspar Noé Christmas film, and a new sex club that encourages gay men and lesbians to have sex with each other for the very first time. Delving into his love for the annual December warning list of Unsafe Toys to Give Your Child and his hatred for email Christmas cards, The Easter Bunny, and any kind of holiday food issues, the Pope of Trash will give you a Cool Yule like no other. You better watch out, you better cry! John Waters, the People’s Pervert, is coming to town.
