A new poll shows strong support for marriage equality in Arizona, driven predominately by the state’s Latino population and women. The Rocky Mountain Poll shows that 55 percent of Arizonans support marriage equality. The poll also found that 75 percent of Latinos, 67 percent of residents under the age of 35, 60 percent of women, 54 percent of residents aged 35 to 54, and 54 percent of residents in rural areas support marriage equality.
The new poll comes the day after Minnesota passed marriage equality legislation, becoming the 12th state in the nation to embrace marriage for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples.
